At the end of 2018, I taught my first Introduction to Modern Calligraphy class with Wonderpens. It’s been a great partnership as they hire me for the 2.5 hour class and provide the space, materials, and take care of registration. So… I made it a 2019 goal to regularly teach. It was a great set-up for me and I wanted to overcome my fear of teaching calligraphy. Weird, eh? I feel comfortable speaking and engaging with people in tons of other ways but when it comes to sharing my calligraphy process, I feel totally exposed and illegitimate. Imposter syndrome? Maybe? ……

It’s perfect timing to share a wonderful shoot that I got to be a part of, thanks to my childhood friend Maureen. If you ever meet her, you’ll know why it was so easy to say yes to working with her. Maureen’s got such a great personality and you can quickly see why couples enjoy their time with her. Anyway, back to the point — a few weeks ago, our citrus-inspired styled shoot was featured on Wedding Chicks (WEEEE!)!!!! There was a team of wonderful vendors all working together to capture the whimsy and charm of this vision and I think we nailed it! I’m so excited to share this with you. It’s been a long time since I’ve been part of a styled shoot and so it was a pleasure meeting some new vendors and coming up with some of these pieces ……

These days, it's easy to fall into a little rut. With the cold (and gloomy) weather, post-holidays lull, and the long wait for spring, it feels more important than ever to develop good habits. I hear it all the time (hi mom!): sleep well, eat better, be active. And while I've been consciously making an effort to improve these aspects of my life, I'm finding more and more that my overall wellbeing comes from being rooted in God. Paul said it all the time: the truth brings forth a renewal of our mind, which then transforms us. Our affections, our values... it changes. We don't desire the things that once occupied our hearts. We begin longing for something more, something otherworldly... and from that, often praise and joy flow out. ……
